Go back to Tony Hawk’s warehouse on August 14th

Activision and EA are about to go head to head in a half pipe. While the latter just announced they are developing SKATE 4 which won’t be available for at least a year, the Tony Hawk remaster is kickflipping a demo to everyone on August 14th. This isn’t deja-vu. The Tony Hawk Pro Skater games were a juggernaut for Activision and a watershed moment for Skaters. It only makes sense that Activision take the safe route of remastering and re-releasing to a new generation of knee scraping adrenalin junkies.

The new remastered collection brings together the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games in one package. It’ll be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) on September 4th.

In addition to the updated visuals and all of the original levels, and characters, there is a more elaborate create-a-park mode where you can share custom skate parks online. They also added a brand-new online multiplayer mode along with local multiplayer. On top of that, the games will include “the vast majority” of the iconic THPS soundtracks, though not every song made it due to licensing issues.

The development is being handled by Vicarious Visions which has dozens of AAA title to their credit. Most recently they worked on Destiny 2, Skylanders, Guitar Hero, Spiderman 2 and more.

EA’s SKATE 4 will come along in a year or so after everyone has gotten tired of grinding with Tony and his friends.

Which one are you looking forward to playing?
