New images of some of the weapons and equipment featured in the Doom alpha testing period have emerged. Posted on Imgur, the images reveal six different guns and two items. These include the Plasma Rifle, Repeater, Rocket Launcher, Super Shotgun, Vortex Rifle, and Static Cannon, as well as the Frag Grenade and Personal Teleporter. Click through the image gallery below to get a closer look at each.
Each weapon has two firing modes. For example, the Super Shotgun will fire a tighter spread if you hold down the left trigger. Meanwhile, players can squeeze the left trigger to make the Static Canon more effective at long range. Full details about primary and secondary firing options are available in the images.
The origin of these images is not immediately clear, though it's possible they've leaked from the Doom multiplayer alpha, sign-ups for which recently opened. The six weapons and two pieces of equipment were already confirmed to be available in the alpha period.
Whereas access to the upcoming closed beta is guaranteed for those who preordered Wolfenstein: The New Order, only a limited pool of people will get into the alpha, but you'll still need to have preordered to have a chance.
Doom is slated for launch in spring 2016 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Publisher Bethesda expects its multiplayer component will be able to compete with other online shooters because it offers a different sort of experience.
