As you've probably gathered, I am kind of a football fan. The loss of NFL2K years ago, left many fans wondering if we'd ever see another company take a chance on "generic" football knowing that they can't touch the NFL or NFLPA licenses. Someone did, and that company is Natural Motion, the company behind Backbreaker which is already a smash hit on the iPhone. In this first developer diary, they discuss the on the field camera angle and dynamic tackles as a result of the Euphoria engine that has been used in games like Star Wars Force Unleashed. I've also included the original teaser trailer which shows off some footage released earlier this month. The one major benefit of no NFLPA means no Peyton Manning. Of course I'm pretty sure they're going to win today, but that's only because he is a robot. Go Saints!
