A recent-ish patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt added HDR support, but it also brought new issues for PlayStation 4 Pro users. As captured by YouTube user Qbon83, the update has been causing problems with the game's draw distance and foliage, leading to some rather immersion-breaking pop-in.
It's the kind of thing that can grate on you enough to put your adventure on hold.
The pop-in problem only affected certain users (namely, people running The Witcher 3 at 4K on PS4 Pro), but it was still unfortunate to see. Today, CD Projekt RED released a hotfix for those players.
The new hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available on PS4 and PS4 Pro! This update increases draw distance for foliage, while using 4K on PS4 Pro and applies to both, Vanilla and GOTY versions of the game. pic.twitter.com/wYvPDSkhUD— The Witcher (@witchergame) May 16, 2018
I've yet to find a good before-and-after comparison, but presumably things are back in order.
