Those be some fat pipes.I heard fiber is competitive to sustained hard drive transfers, so you could store all your data off-site and not notice a performance difference. Maybe Larry Ellison's Network PC concept was just a decade too early. I'd still want a local copy though. But imagine if you had 300-600 gigs on your computer, but you were connected to 10 terrabytes on your private server. Uberness!

i have multiple computers on mine, and i'm running alot of torrents i don't really want to stop seeding(might edit in a test later) but i get 160-170K down, and 100-120K up.i changed to a cheaper plan since it's a ripoff to pay around $50 for 1.5/1.0 when i can get 1.5/768 for less than half as much just without the static ip. so i ended up just dumping it. i'm going to miss the crazy ass upload speed for torrents :( i still get 80+K up though, so it's not awful.having a high upload can really make a slow(er) connection seem fast as hell for games/torrents/etc. this still feels way faster even just in internet browsing than my 7.0/256 cable ever did.
