Same here, I already pay for cable, internet, phone, and rent! Why do I need to pay for the radio as well.

You pay for cable for the same reason I pay for satellite radio. Better/more content.

there shouldn't have been two companies in the first place. i know quite a few people will be going "ASDFGJKFGDF MONOPOLY!!!1!" but honestly half of the good shit was on one, half of the good shit was on the other and the rest was overlap.but wait, i thought the fcc said they couldn't merge when they both first started.

Shit, all I pay for is cable internet....from there I can watch TV, anime, ninjas, anime with ninjas in it, porn, anime porn, anime porn with hot lesbian ninjas, and the news!In fact I got a sirus receiver for Xmas....I think I'll put it up for like 50 bucks or highest bid here on allgames. Plus shipping, bitches.

When this was news last month, I didn't like it because I believe that both companies would end up with worse service without competition.Since then things have gotten much, much worse as the RIAA has moved to shut down music over the internet with terrible royalty fees.....http://www.digmedia.org/content/release.cfm?id=36&content=newsSo now I am even more concerned than ever. IMHO both Sirius & XM have excellent music programming and they may be just about all the remains after the RIAA destroys internet radio. I certainly don't want to reduce both of them to just one.

I have a lifetime subscription to sirius and i dont regret it. I can no longer listen to terrestrial radio. Commercial free is the way to go.

This has just been completed. Trading in XMSR has been halted. The name of the new company will be Sirius XM Radio.http://xmradio.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=press_releases&item=1648

God, I can't wait! They're gonna have to trim some fat and merge some channels though.
