Maybe you'll get it in 2008. But, this isn't 2008.

Remember I said according to me. Is Sporting News opinion more viable than mine? They are just trying to sell magazines. Also, Detroit sucks for sports this year. The Tigers finished 6 games back in the wild-card race. You have Kitna guaranteeing the impossible for the Lions. The Pistons failing this past season despite having the deepest team in the Easter Conference. Michigan lost to Appalachian State and Michigan State lost there last two games. The Red Wings had a decent season last year but who gives a shit about hockey?So... I say to Detroit, pfft!

Tampa peaked around 2004 when the Bucs and Lightning won the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup a year apart. Even picked up an Arena Bowl championship for good measure. :pRight now it's pretty surreal to see our South Florida Bulls at #5 in the college football picture and talking about national championship chances if they run the table. Of course that could all disappear in a couple of hours, especially given all the other #5's upset this year. Either way it's cool to finally see some civic pride in the hometown college team with lots of green and gold being worn and flown around for once instead of all the Gators and Seminoles crap.. But then that's what happens when you have only 11 years of a football program going up against decades of tradition like Florida has..A bit early in the hockey season, but the Lightning are looking noticeably tougher and deeper this year. They've been consistently good the past few years and are always exciting with the high octane offense. Love the new jerseys and logo. Bucs don't suck as bad as I thought they would, but still kinda muddling along and the injuries are piling up. The Rays.. well they're the Rays.. Seems like every one of our teams has to go through absurd growing pains before they hit it big, the exception being our soccer teams (Mutiny and Rowdies both kicked ass right away) and well again USF football has pretty much always exceeded even the most optimistic expectations in growing into a stronger team.BTW speaking of soccer, the New England Revolution are doing pretty well too. They've picked up their first U.S. Open Cup recently and are still in the running for best record in MLS with a playoff spot already clinched.

I like the patriots. Brady is the best QB in the league. And I was glad the red sox won a couple years ago. The celtics can kiss my ass though. They still WONT make the playoffs. And if they do we'll sweep em. And for the record, The D is a better city than Boston period.
