I talked to my dad some more about this, and he said that since I am going to college next year we might buy a laptop and upgrade the video card. I think its this he was talking about.
You can do better for $700. Also, you can't easily upgrade the video card of a laptop. It will most likely cost you a lot more than to just buy one with a dedicated card. That is if you want a laptop and aren't interested in upgrading your desktop anymore.

It's not that you can't "easily" upgrade graphics cards in notebooks. You can't upgrade them AT ALL. There are some boutique ones from the likes of Voodoo and Alienware that have upgradable graphics cards, but they're stupid expensive. Anything you buy in regular retail is 99.99% gauranteed to NOT have upgradeable graphics.

You can't put a desktop card into a laptop...Here's a laptop cheaper and better than both of those, plus it comes with everything you'd need.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834210015

Nice choice. You'll be able to run any game around right now, except for Crysis. :PI was actually looking at the same laptop not that long ago.

I was just going to say that.. AMD's procs aren't nearly as good when the same pricepoints are compared.
