Is the bolding yours or the author's? I'm hoping it's the latter, as saying MS needs to burn for forcing you to spend a few seconds to pick a silly Mii-like representation of yourself is a bit...fill-in-the-blank.

I was getting the same feeling too. I think the main beef I have with NXE is how the panels, appearing left to right, are also shifted along the z-axis and get further away from you.Anyone know how we are supposed to change screens, like from Marketplace to Arcade? If it's done by moving the thumbstick up and down, I can see that being a problem with how the current menu panels are laid out.

Joystiq helped quash some of my fears about the new NXE.
It has created an interface that's much more accessible and organized for all gamers and one that's tailor-made for the hardcore.

if it makes browsing the marketplace more visually appeasing/easier than I'm all for it. Also they're saying that there will not be any loading like you sometimes get with blades now.

This is interesting.
"The new Xbox experience will require 128MB of free space. A hard drive is recommended for the optimal experience, to take advantage of some new features, and to be able to enjoy the great movies, TV shows and games available on Xbox LIVE. While we expect the majority of consumers to download the New Xbox Experience without a problem, a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update. To help ensure all Xbox LIVE members are able to download the New Xbox Experience and enjoy its new features, Microsoft will be offering storage solutions to the Xbox LIVE community. We are not sharing details of this offering yet. Be sure to check xbox.com for more details in the coming weeks."
So, what do you think? Free 256MB memory unit for arcade owners? Recycling all the left over 20GB hard drives? Online storage? Think the new arcade boxes will come with a chunk of built in flash memory? Seems very odd MS would develop a main feature that does not work on a portion of their systems. Hard to believe the best solution they have is sending people free MU. What if happens you remove your MU - or your hdd for that matter...does it default back to the blades?
